For 18 consecutive years, Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) has hosted the Subaru Share the Love Event to support national and local charities across the United States. The car manufacturer partners with a handful of national charities, including ASPCA, Meals on Wheels, Make-a-Wish, and the National Park Foundation.
After a successful launch in 2008, SOA decided to expand the program and allow local retailers to partner with charities and nonprofits in the markets they serve. The OEM gives its retailers full autonomy to choose local partners to support during the annual event.
In 2025, Johnstown-based dealer Spangler Subaru chose the Miracle League at Roxbury Park as their local partner. From mid-November through December, new car purchasers were given the opportunity to choose a charity among the four national organizations listed by SOA and the Miracle League. Once the new car owner’s choice was made, Subaru would donate $250 to that charity, while Spangler Subaru would donate $75 to the Miracle League at Roxbury Park, regardless of which nonprofit the shopper chose.
After the results were tallied and the financials were set, Spangler Subaru presented a check for $14,573 to the Miracle League at Roxbury Park. These funds will go directly towards our Phase 1 fundraising project of breaking ground and building a ballpark.
But this was not the only philanthropy effort directed by Spangler Subaru. To coincide with the Subaru Share the Love Event, the Johnstown car dealer also hosted a Family Reindeer Photoshoot. They partner with Spruce Ridge Reindeer to bring in live reindeer onto their lot at the start of the Subaru Share the Love Event.
During the annual reindeer photoshoot, families sign up to get professional photos with the reindeer. Dressed in their Sunday’s best, they gather in front of two different custom-made backdrops while smiling for the camera. Proceeds are then donated to the Miracle League at Roxbury Park, while Spangler Subaru covers the costs of hosting the event.
During the presentation of the Subaru Share the Love Event proceeds, Spangler Subaru also handed the Miracle League at Roxbury Park an additional fundraising check for $5426.66 from the Family Reindeer Photoshoot. Our mission to serve our community can only be accomplished with support from our community partners, and we cannot thank Spangler Subaru enough for these generous contributions.
In total, Subaru of America, Inc and Spangler Subaru donated $19,999.66 to the Miracle League at Roxbury Park.
